MIG WELDING AT D&R MACHINE
MIG welding—metal inert gas welding—is a metal-joining process in which metal wire electrode is fed through a welding gun to create an electric arc which melts and joins metals together. To protect the weld from atmospheric contamination as the metal is molten, an inert gas shields the metal while material is welded together.
MIG welding is an ideal choice for metals such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel, cast iron, bronze, and other alloys and pure metals. As the electrode is fed through the welding gun as opposed to being fed externally like in a TIG welding process, novice-level operators can more easily handle the welding process for a more steady and accurate end product.
