With industrial automation's reliance on hydraulic and pneumatic control, manifolds have become an increasingly important element in flow distribution. A customized manifold will allow for a more simple, centralized fluid management system with consistent pressure and ease of use with instrumentation and valves. As manifolds are used in fluid distribution, designers pay special attention to the material of which a manifold will be made from to account for whether or not corrosion will pose an issue when interacting with the fluid in question. Manifolds will be typically manufactured from anodized aluminum or stainless steel to allow for the inherent corrosion resistance of those materials to be compatiable with the fluid used in that particular application.
