4-AXIS MACHINING AT D&R MACHINE
When parts are made requiring more complex geometry, advanced machines with more positional and rotational control mechanisms allow machinists the capability to manufacture parts of a wider variety of shapes compared to more standard machines. In four axis machining, a tool or workpiece in milling and turning respectively can maintain the three-axis positional movement while being able to rotate about the spindle as its own rotational axis. This rotational control allows an additional movement mechanism to produce wider varieties of geometries without different setups.
At D&R Machine, our in-house Doosan Lathe is able to perform 4-axis machining procedures. The Doosan Lynx 2100LSY is equipped with 4-axis machining functionality, allowing for standard turning operations alongside contouring, drilling, and milling without different setups and added intervention, boosting efficiency in parts manufacturing and overall lead time.
